Take the Challenge Proposal

I want to advertise our podcast by making a banner or a poster and put the website in our poster and banner. We can put a title on the top then we put a sentence that lets people know that there are Word Generation podcasts in the academic section in our Schoolloop website. We could also add it on our Schoolloop front page website so people will know where to look for it so they won't be confused on where it is.

Semester Reflection

This semester, our Media Art class made a lot of podcasts and learned a lot of tools we could use to make our podcasts. We already made 11 podcasts so far. We are improving a lot over time. In the first podcast, we didn't have music and had no emotions. Then, as we got better and better, we started having emotions and musics. When we got to our seventh podcast, we started putting our face out and some people made it like a conversation with others. When we started putting music on our podcast, it didn't have a fade out and then we added it to make it sound more smooth. When holidays are coming up, we added the holiday themes on it. We added pictures that were from google. Then, we started making our own pictures that matched the podcast with the sentence. we used Kerpoof to make the podcast. It was fun because we used the stickers on the side and added it on the place you want to put it at. When we put it together, it looks better than when you are getting it ready.

clarity of speech
(Can understand every word spoken. Not too fast nor too slow. )

creative look
(the title, images, video and credits are all easy to see and make you want to look at the podcast. Illustrations are related to the word or sentence and feel original and fresh. The credits don’t go by too quickly and are readable. There’s a sense that the whole podcast has the same theme and look)

creative production
(The music adds quality to the podcast. It’s not too loud nor too soft. You can hear speech over the music easily.  The speed of the podcast is even and flows without blank spots or awkward cuts. There’s something interesting about the way it’s all put together. The Kerpoof picture is relevant to the word and a sentence and makes the podcast more interesting)
including all requirements

(This week’s requirement was to use a Kerpoof picture with a cartoon that used at least one of the words. Great means they used more than one. There also must be
1.     definition
2.     WG sentence
3.     Original sentence
4.     Credits  with no last names
5.     Bibliography with name of web site and urls
6.     Document named the word)
Great
I can understand what they are saying and it is going in the right pace.

They had a Kerpoof picture, definition and the sentences.
Needs a little work

Needs a lot of work or isn’t there at all

There was no title and only have 1 image in the podcast.
There is no music in the podcast.

The definition, and sentences are there.
Needs a little work

It wasn’t very smooth to start the picture before you finished spelling the word.
Talking pretty fast.  The picture sequence doesn’t really match the words. Transition to picture of power plant very good.

Needs a lot of work or isn’t there at all

Kerpoof Picture

My picture was easy to make but it doesn't always have the exact backgrounds that I want to use. We chose  Derek's Picture for our podcast. The reason we chose that one is because the picture is representing the word. I feel that it is a good choice because it gives the pictures on the side so we don't have to make our own picture. This process is we first find a background that we want to use. Then, we put the pictures on the background so it will look the way you want it to look.

Word Generation Podcast Week 7!

This week, I was working with my new team members. Everyone got one part to do so everyone worked on the podcast. My part was to make the script for the podcast. We had to make a podcast for the word "Theory". This time, we made a podcast differently. We had our own faces in it so we don't have to only put images. Sometimes, people get bored by staring at the pictures. We can make it better by putting more emotions or talking more as a group to get the podcast more interesting and funnier so people could watch it like a mini movie. Ms.Hendrix can make it better by letting us pick our own groups because we could know who does a better job at that part.

Word Generation Comparison!

                                 Before                                                                             After

In our Media Arts class, we have been making podcasts for Word Generation. Word Generation is a program that Francisco Middle School started this year. This program will built our reading and vocabulary skills. Our podcasts made a big improvement over time! In the first podcast, my group sounded like robots and there wasn't any music or animations. Now we have been improving by adding music and sounding more realistic. We are still going to continue improving to do our best!

Welcome to Kelley's Portfolio

Welcome to my Media Arts Portfolio. I am going to post projects and podcasts that I did in class. I will use this portfolio in my application when I apply for Galileo High School. I will put a short reflection about what the project or podcast was about. Please leave a comment on what you think about my work.
